Questions and Answers.
-
Do you provide urgent transcription or translation services? With less than a day's notice?
As soon as an urgent order comes in, we must check whether any of our translation/ transcription professionals is available to fulfill the transcription or translation order. This, of course, also depends on the scale of the assignment. In most cases, we are able to successfully fulfill the customer's request and complete the assignment within the short time frame. Granted, the rate for an urgent transcription or translation assignment is somewhat higher.
-
Do you guarantee that the information provided to you will remain confidential?
Of course we do. As soon as we receive the information, we provide a “Non-Disclosure” document to the customer, signed by the company and stating that it pledges to maintain the customer's confidentiality and not to forward the information onward to any entity while performing the assignment, and after its completion. In addition to that, all transcription and translation professionals have signed a confidentiality agreement.
-
What is a legal deposition?
A deposition is a written document that is issued in a court of law, and is meant to constitute a substitute for the testimony. In cases where this is permitted, the legal party is authorized to submit a deposition instead of bringing the witness in for a testimony and thereby spare his or her time. The opposing party will then often be authorized to cross-examine the witness. The deposition is signed by the witness and a professional authorized to do so (a lawyer) adds his or her certification at the margin of the deposition, stating that he or she has identified the signed party and informed him or her of his or her duty to state only the truth. The party who signs a false deposition is committing a felony, and when a false deposition is submitted to the court, it is the same as providing a false testimony.
-
How can I/ we pay you for the translation or transcription services you provide?
The translation [and transcription] services can be paid for in cash, via a check sent in the mail, a bank transfer, or by using a credit card.
-
How can I/ we be certain the completed assignment will be received in time?
As soon as the customer contacts our company, he or she receives a price quote via e-mail, along with a Contact Agreement signed by the company, in which the customer and company information is detailed, as well as the deadline, price and customer form of payment. As soon as we receive the Contact Agreement back from the customer, we can begin working on the assignment, but no sooner than that. This Contact Agreement constitutes a contract for all matters and purposes, and both parties are noted in it.
-
Do I/ we need to pay an additional fee if corrections are necessary?
48 Hours after the completed assignment is received, no additional fee is charged [for corrections]. The company requests that the customer look over the completed document receive within (with the exception of extreme cases) [48 hours]. In the event that corrections are necessary, the company pledges to make the corrections that are needed in order to render the document perfect for the customer. This, as long as the customer looks over the file and sends it back within 48 hours of receiving it.
-
How do you set your rates?
-
The company uses a moving scale in order to determine the rates for transcription and translation assignments. The rates vary in correspondence with the language of translation, urgency of the assignment, audio quality, hand-writing legibility, number of words, number of pages, scope of the assignment, etc.
